My Grandma Becky and Grandma Pat both have a holiday tradition of making and sharing candy with family. My personal fav is the turtle pretzel (shown below) which is a pretzel stick wrapped in caramel then dipped in chocolate.

Last year I sent Carolina some holiday gifts. I kinda wish they wouldn’t have delivered the gifts at school though because I wasn’t trying to make the other children feel bad or left out. Nevertheless World Vision sent me another nice photo to cherish… and her mother (Josefa) is doing an amazing job raising such a loving little girl.

She is such a grateful little girl and always writes such nice letters. In one of them, this is what she wrote:

Querida Kerry,

I am very grateful to you for the great gifts that you sent for me. It filled me with joy to receive and see the puppets that I like very much. Thank you very much as well for the books, balloons, scissors, bracelets, fan, stuffed toy, hair clips, chain, and for everything else. I received my gift at school and the photo that I am sending for you was taken in front of my classroom. My teacher congratulated me on the gifts that I received on this very special day.

We all need to work on being more respectful to one another. Every life on this earth has value. So when someone says hi to you in the street say hi back or even better take the initiative to say hello first. Speak…respect… don’t snub your noses at each other. If your naturally a nice person this will be no problem but if your mean just take baby steps on being more kind each and every day.

Whenever someone spews hatred they’re blocking blessings and good things from coming into their life. Don’t be that person! Don’t let the harsh realities of life beat you down and make you an unpleasant person to be around. Always try to be polite no matter what and smile at others. Learn to find joy in making others happy. Kindness is Contagious…
